SanDisk Launches the World's Fastest Memory Card – CFast 2.0

Just few days ago, SanDisk – a company known for producing high quality storage devices launched the world’s first CFast 2.0 memory card. CFast is a variation of the CompactFlash cards usually seen in professional cameras and it offers significantly faster access speeds.
The SanDisk’s CFast 2.0 card has reading speeds of around 450MB/s and writing speeds of around 350MB/s. This makes it ideal for cameras that record content in resolutions as high as 4K. In fact, SanDisk claims that their CFast 2.0 card is currently the world’s fastest memory card. Currently, there is no camera or any device that supports CFast 2.0 memory cards, but a camera is being designed by a company named Arri and the camera will be the first camera to support this type of memory card while existing Alexa XT cameras will support it using an adaptor.

The new SandDisk CFast 2.0 cards are available in US, Europe and Arri authorized stores in 60GB and 120GB capacities. Also available is a reader for your computer that supports this new card. No prices have been mentioned so far for the card or the adaptor but we will let you know where exactly you can buy this card and its price tag once it has been tagged. You can see that Technology is not waiting for anyone; very soon some smartphones will be using the 120GB memory card, a memory size which the best PC never had 10 years ago.
