Paypal Online Payment Service is now available in Nigeria !!!

After waiting for so long, PayPal service has been finally extended to Nigeria few days ago. If you are not aware of this, since the inception of PayPal, one of the largest, best and most secured internet payment companies (buying, purchasing and transacting online). Nigerians have never been allowed to use its service, maybe because of the numerous scams the internet payment platform have been used for. But now, when there are so many serious and upright online transactors, PayPal has been finally introduced.

The introduction of PayPal is not only in Nigeria. It was also introduced into some other parts of the world, which includes Belarus, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Monaco, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Zimbabwe and Paraguay but of the ten countries which PayPal was launched recently, Nigeria holds the biggest potential market considering the estimated 60 million Internet users Nigeria has got (According to statistics from Euromonitor). Thus, this new expansion will bring the total number of countries under PayPal’s coverage to 203.

As seen on Forbes.com, PayPal will not launch all of its services in these new markets according to Keeley (Paypal's Vice President for the EMEA region), the company will only start off with the ‘send money’ feature, allowing customers to make payments to pre-approved international merchant sites. Local merchants will still be unable to receive payments via PayPal until it is stated by PayPal.

We are so glad to have PayPal here in Nigeria, maybe you should navigate to Paypal.com to create your own PayPal account. Our upcoming post will feature 'How to create a Paypal account here in Nigeria and verify it' if you don't know how to go about it. What do you think about the launch of PayPal in Nigeria ? Kindly share your thoughts and contributions with us. Cheers !!!
