T-Mobile decided to make this video to catch people’s attention as well as raise awareness about the new Galaxy S7’s IP68 immersion rating meaning that it is dust resistant and can be submerged underwater up to 5 feet for up to 30 minutes at a time, stronger and longer than the IP67 rating of the Samsung Galaxy S5.
In the video, we see T-Mobile’s product manager - Des, who was completely underwater, with a snorkel and also holding T-Mobile retail uniform, unboxing a Galaxy S7. And yes, he took the entire box underwater and unboxed it, underwater.Isn't it amazing? He is murmuring in the entire video because of the water, so the video has been subtitled to understand what he’s saying. He also turns the phone on, takes tests shots with the camera, and even takes a video call, all underwater.
